DOUg WATTS

A music graduate of The University of Bristol, Doug studied vocal performance under internationally renowned opera singers Christopher Gillett & Jeffrey Howard, in Musical Theatre performance with Andy Reiss of Beyond the Barricade and in conducting under Jonathan James.

Doug has musically directed a number of shows, including Little Shop of Horrors, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and Godspell and now regularly conducts a number of choirs.

Doug co-founded Show Choir in 2017 and leads the Clifton & Westbury-on-Trym groups. He brings his love of musicals, passion for conducting and talent for arranging to Bristol Show Choir.

Jessica broderick

In 2011, Jess graduated from the prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, founded by Sir Paul McCartney, where she trained in performing arts, specialising in singing. Since then, she has worked professionally as a vocalist and performer across the UK and abroad.

Jess co-founded Show Choir in 2017 and leads the Southville & Widcombe (Bath Show Choir) groups. She loves combining two of her biggest passions: choirs and musical theatre!

JACK HAMILTON
SHOW CHOIR teacher

Jack has a classical/choral background. He was a chorister at Worcester Cathedral and later studied Music at Bristol University, graduating in 2013. His first instrument was the violin but at 20 he started singing opera, moving to Drum Kit and joining a signed band after university.

Jack conducted choirs at university,  later ran a children's choir in China and currently sings with Choir Noir. He has also toured the UK and Europe extensively as a drummer, playing countless shows and festivals including Glastonbury.

Jack is also a qualified vocal coach. He is a singing teacher at Bristol Grammar School and works with singers in various bands.

Jack leads the Downend & Batheaston (Bath Show Choir) groups and loves being a part of Show Choir, sharing his passion for singing with other musical theatre lovers!

 

Baritone Charlie Morris is a music graduate from the University of Bristol and is Artistic Director and co-founder of award-winning touring opera company, Opera in a Box. Charlie has over fifteen years experience of professional opera and oratorio singing, and has produced seventeen fully-staged, operatic productions. Charlie is also a Secondary Teacher of Music at Bristol Grammar School and a Saturday morning broadcaster on the BCfm Radio ‘Saturday Edition’; the station’s headline theatre, music, arts, and culture show for Bristol.

An advocate for accessibility into classical music, opera, and performance, Charlie is heavily involved in music outreach in Bristol, coordinating large-scale, collaborative performance opportunities and music education across schools in the South West. It’s been amazing hosting Show Choir on the Bristol airwaves over the last few years, it’s now a huge privilege to be a part of it - onwards and upwards Show Choir; Clifton, Bristol, Southwest, UK, the World!

SIÂN WILLIAMS
SHOW CHOIR ADMINISTRATOR

Siân is the go-to woman for all Show Choir enquiries!

With a background in graphic design, Siân is now a Learning Support Assistant at a Bristol primary school and whilst she has no music or singing background, she is an enthusiastic member of BSC - she joined the Clifton group in September 2017 and hasn’t looked back since!

Siân loves the sense of belonging that comes from being part of the choir and is well aware of the positive benefits to emotional well being that it brings. She’s made some great friends and enjoys the weekly challenge of learning to sing some fabulous songs!
